and I would love to tell you a little bit more about me...
I graduated physiotherapy in Poland, which took me 3 years, and then I decided to take a year off and move to Denmark to see what it’s like to work and live abroad. I thought it would be about 1 year of experience, but as always... life has a different plan for you... so I stayed.
After about 2 years, I enrolled in osteopathic studies at IAO. It was the hardest path I could imagine, but I managed and after 4 years I graduated and since 2022 I work as a licensed osteopath in my own clinic in Copenhagen that I share with my colleagues.
7 years of education (probably I am not done yet) and almost 10 years of experience in this field...Not too bad
I always dreamed of creating my own space to work with different people, and working as a freelance physiotherapist in different clinics around the city was a necessity, but never something I wanted.
I couldn’t do it alone. I was very lucky to meet some great people along the way, but it was Deborah Tassi who motivated me to work on this dream.
It took an incredible amount of work to get to where we are today... I am very proud of us. One Italian and the other Polish professionals making their way in foreign country as Denmark and made it work...it is a great achievement.
Is funny because the diagnosis came not from a general doctor or not even gynecologist.
It came from an osteopath specialised in gynecological issues. Together with Deborah Tassi who is just like me an osteopath we decided to participate in this specialisation course, and we were performing vaginal techniques on each other.
We noticed straight away that even small turn of fingers was giving me big discomfort and that my cervix from uterus wasn’t mobile...
The teacher confirmed endometriosis 4th stage. After that, shock...just a few days later I went to a new gynecologist and he referred me to hospital straight away.
At the hospital they first did USG then MRI and they saw that this big mass in the posterior fornix was 5cm big and was pushing on rectum. Not only that, they also found 2 2.5cm cysts on ovary, ligaments and ureters. Passage of my urine from kidney to bladder was suppressed causing urine reflux to the kidney and any time I could get kidney infections. Well this also happened...Crazy painful.
Bumpy ride for sure and I know is not over but hey... we have to stay positive :)
